LaMae Katherine Krell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, of White Marsh, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at home while in the tender care of her loving family and husband of 66 years, Arnold M. Krell Sr., at 87 years of age.
Born Sunday, May 27, 1934, in Coaldale, a daughter of the late Carl and Loretta (Snyder) Ruffulo. LaMae was also predeceased by son-in-law, Michael Doll Sr.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter, Kim Doll of Rising Sun, MD; sons, Arnold M. Krell Jr., and his wife Regina, of Delta, PA, and Scott H. Krell, and his wife Jill, of Essex, MD; grandchildren, Aimee Doll, Michael Doll Jr., and his wife Lauren, Theresa Krell, Nicole Krell, Scott Krell, Rileigh Krell; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Doll, Hope Triggs; sister, Barbara Henderlite, and her husband Roy; niece, Alison Bassani, wife of John; sisters-in-law, Joan Krell and Carolyn Tanner.
A 1952 Tamaqua High School graduate, LaMae was head majorette of the high school drum & bugle corp.
After graduation LaMae worked at the former Atlas Powder Company on the powder cap line, and later earned her dental hygienist certification.
LaMae and Arnold became engaged in December of 1952. Arnold was then drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. Upon his return in 1955 LaMae and Arnold were married on June 4. A doting mother, LaMae enjoyed reading, painting, traveling and was an avid sports fan. LaMae was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most of all LaMae loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Service: A funeral service will be on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.
