Leonard Swatt Obituary
Leonard J. Swatt, 76, of Lehighton, passed away at home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025. He was the husband of Cynthia (Beidleman) Swatt. They were married for 46 years.
Born on Jan. 6, 1949, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late John and E. Magdalen (Curran) Swatt.
A graduate of Lehighton Area High School, he then joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He joined the Naval Reserve and retired from the Navy in December, 1992.
He also enjoyed working as a deputy for the PA Fish and Game Commission for many years. He was employed by the New Jersey Zinc Company and Prince Manufacturing.
He regularly attended Faith Alive Church, where he served as an usher and a trustee.
Surviving in addition to his widow are sons, Kevin (Missy) and Greg; a stepson, Robert (Carla); six grandchildren; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Mary E. Rader.
He was also predeceased by his brother, Raymond; and his sister, Maggie Armbruster.
Service: Celebration of life 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton. Arrangements by Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehighton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the church.

A navy Vietnam Veteran has passed away today. Len, you are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy Vietnam Veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The carrier has turned into the wind preparing for your final departure. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate.
