Marian E. Roberts, 96, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of David S. Roberts.
Born in Lehighton on May 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora (Getz) Schrader.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Donna Mullen Hair Salon, Lehighton, for many years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton.
"Mem" held court at the never-ending coffee klatch around her kitchen table. Seating was always at a premium. Faithful friends and devoted neighbors were a vital part of Mem's life and created the best of times for her. Those friends and neighbors were a true blessing to her entire family.
Surviving are two daughters, Lorene E., wife of Loren LaRose of Palmerton, and Lynette A., wife of David Becattini of Lansdale; a son, Layne D. Roberts, and his fiancé, Kathryn McEvilly, of Lehighton; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Roberts, who died in 1997.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Interment, Red Church Cemetery, Rt. 61, Orwigsburg, following the church service. Call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, PA 18071. Online condolences can be offered at ovsakfh.com.

I used to love going over and sitting around her kitchen table. She would tell me stories about the Doc little boy always brought a smile to me. She also introduced me to the Doc uncle Colossal Radio and she was a great lady.

One of my favorite memories is when spring would come I would plant flowers outside her apartment and it made her smile. She loved when I would bring her the flowers for her birthday and then plant them in her garden.Mem was amazing woman we used to sit and talk a lot in her kitchen. When my sister would come home from London she would love to talk about the queen we will miss you Mem and we love you.

For many years, it was a great privilege to be Mem's doctor. She was a truly unique and delightful woman, and I always looked forward to her appointments. I will especially remember her wit and fantastic sense of humor. She alway began our conversation saying with her sweet, slow tempo voice, "Now....why....am....I....here? I....feel....fine."
I hope that your many wonderful memories of her bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
