Marie K. "Dolly" Dieter, 82, formerly of Palmerton, passed away at Phoebe Home in Allentown on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Harvey W. Dieter Sr., with whom she shared 46 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2005.
Born in West Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Leah (Fritzinger) Miazga.
Marie was a graduate of Leh-ighton High School, Class of 1958.
She was employed by Palmerton Hospital, where she was a receptionist, and also worked in admissions, before retiring. Marie previously worked as a cashier for the former Widmans in Palmerton.
Known as "the hugger," she was a faithful member and active volunteer of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, where she served as a greeter, hugger, and participated in many mission trips. Marie loved the ocean, camping and cooking for friends and family, and her pumpkin roll was her specialty. During earlier years, she was involved with Girl and Cub Scouts, and was an avid bowler and youth bowling coach.
Survivors: Marie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Connie Smith and husband, Kelly, and LuAnn Dailey and husband, Randy, both of Palmerton; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harvey Sr., she was predeceased by her son, Harvey W. Dieter Jr.; two grandsons, Stephen G. Dieter and Brandon H. M. Dailey; and her stepbrother, Robert Burns.
Services: A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mountain Drive, Cherryville, PA 18035. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery at Little Moore, Danielsville.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Bethany Wesleyan Church.
