Mrs. Mary E. Feuerstein
Mrs. Mary E. Feuerstein of South Avenue, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, one day before her 86th birthday, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Elmer J. Feuerstein. They would have been married 67 years on March 14.
She had worked for the former Scotty's Fashions, Lehighton.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Mae (Leiden) Smith.
She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Jim Thorpe, and had belonged to the PA Order of the Eastern Star, Lehighton, for over 50 years.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Gnaden Huetten Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton, for over seven years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Judy, wife of Bill Merluzzi of Towamensing Township; a son, Craig D., and his wife, Sharon, of Jim Thorpe; four sisters, Jacqueline Krebs of Jim Thorpe, Frances Behler of Mahoning Township and Virginia Rehrig and Georgine, wife of Kenneth Esrang, both of Franklin Township; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two brothers, Marvin Smith and John Leiden; and a sister, Marie Martienssen.
