Oliver Bredbenner Obituary
Oliver C. Bredbenner, 93, of Daubert Road, Northampton, Lehigh Township, died peacefully early Saturday morning, Feb 1, 2025. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Steigerwalt) Bredbenner since Oct 25, 1958.
Born in West Penn Township, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Beatrice (Ruch) Bredbenner.
Oliver started his career working for his father driving trucks, then purchased his own truck. He drove out of state for many years for Modern Transfer, Schwerman, and then MTS, a total of 48 years. He was awarded the Mack Million Miler (which is 40 times around the world). He retired from trucking and drove school bus for NASD for 22 years.
Oliver was a longtime member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville.
Surviving are sons, Jeffrey P. Bredbenner (Lori), Gregory L. Bredbenner and Keith O. Bredbenner (Monique); daughters, Michelle E. Bredbenner (Bryon Reed) and Melissa S. Liggitt (Todd); a brother, Curtis Bredbenner (Karen); 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by his daughter, Melanie A. Butz, who died on Jan. 4, 2025; a brother, Chester O.; and sisters, Carolyn Kamenski and Dolores Sherry.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mt. Drive, Cherryville, with Pastor Dwight Addington officiating. Interment, Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday. The Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, is in charge of the arrangements. Contributions in his name may be made to Transport for Christ, TFC Global, 1528 River Road, Marietta, PA 17547, or c/o the funeral home, 18067. My condolences to the Bredbenner family. Ollie was a wonderful person and miss his wonderful laugh. My husband worked with him at MTS. We have wonderful memories of him. He will be greatly missed.
