Richard Hall Obituary

Richard L. Hall

Richard L. Hall, 82, of Lehighton, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus, Mahoning Township. He was the loving husband of Janet O. (Stein) Hall. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

Born on March 7, 1943, in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Donald Hall and the late Hazel (Dunbar) Hall.

Richard was a welder for Blue Ridge Pressure Casting in Lehighton for 38 years before retiring in 2000.

He was raised by his grandmother, Florence (Dunbar) Strohl, and worked with Florence on her farm for most of his life. He enjoyed doing carpentry work on the side, hunting and fishing, and loved all of his cats that he took care of throughout the years.

Richard, also known as the "skunk whisperer," had a unique talent for catching skunks in live traps and relocating them without ever being sprayed.

Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Richard will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Jeff Hall, and his wife, Melissa, of Lehighton; a daughter, Jennie Hall of Kunkletown; a grandson, Brandon Hall, and his companion, Kelly Jo Fetter, of Palmerton; and two grandchildren, Brayden Hall of Lehighton and Riley Hall of Palmerton.

Cremation: No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmerton Cat Project, P.O. Box 24, Palmerton, PA 18071. The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, has been entrusted with the arrangements. www.kresgefuneralhome.com.

I committed to speak with folks at the Handwerk reunion that i had not spoken other than a greeting in the past. I spoke with Dick and am very glad I did because he seemed like a very pleasant man that I would have liked ot befriend several years ago. Janet your sorrows are in my heart and I hope to see you in the future reunions. Eugene Handwerk
