Brother Richard F. Hough

Brother Richard F. "Dick" Hough, 81, of Jim Thorpe, formerly of Walnutport, was called off from labor on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, in the Genesis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Cressley) Smith Hough. They were married for one year this past Aug. 20.

His first wife, Grace A. (Husack) Hough, died on March 27, 2018.

Prior to retiring, he was a glazier and was the owner/operator of Tri-County Glass Co.

Born in the Fireline area of Palmerton, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Ella (Strohl) Hough.

He served our country with the U.S. Army/Army Reserves in the military police.

Hough was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Penn Forest Township.

He held a membership in Slatington F. & A.M. Lodge 440, Slatington.

He was an outstanding antique/classic automobile enthusiast/restorer and held a life membership of the Antique Automobile Club of America, where he was a five-time National Champion recipient and served as an AACA Judge. He was also a two-time champion with the National Corvette Club. Locally, he was a member of the Jukebox Cruisers.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife Barb are two sisters, Kathy Horner, and her companion, Rich, of Slatington, and Carol Fairchild (Kenny) of Whitehall; a brother, John Hough, and his wife, Diane, of New Tripoli; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by three brothers, Willis "Bill," George and Edward Hough.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, Christ Lutheran Church, 189 Church Rd., Penn Forest Twp., with the Rev. John P. Hassler officiating. Military graveside service, Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Penn Forest Twp., under direction of Lehighton Area UVO. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Friday. Masonic service at 10:45 a.m. Friday. Duck was a long time friend of my family. He lived with us in Union, NJ while my father trained him in the glass business. He was like a big brother to me. Glad he got to spend the past year with you Barbara. Our condolences. Am out of town but will send a prayer.
