Robert G. Weikel

Robert G. Weikel, 65, of Lansford, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Neeb) Weikel of Lansford.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Benner) Weikel.

He was a graduate of Jim Thorpe High School, Class of 1979.

Bob began his working career as an Auto Mechanic for several years. He then went on to work for the Intrepid Detective Agency in Hazleton, where he became a Lieutenant in Security.

Bob was a gun enthusiast, having been a certified NRA Firearms Instructor.

He was a member of the Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, where he enjoyed target shooting as well as teaching the importance of firearm safety.

He was a member of Grace Community Church in Lansford.

Bob was also a WWII enthusiast and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was famously known for his homemade fried chicken. The family would joke that he needed to open a shop "Bob's Guns & Fried Chicken." He will be missed dearly.

Surviving along with his wife are his children, Jennifer Reese of Shamokin and Sarah Gurtlinger and her husband Chris of White Haven; stepchildren are Christopher Theobald of Lansford, Sarah Jones of New Tripoli and Cassandra McFadden and her husband Michael of Nesquehoning; son-in-law, Daniel Self of Lansford; brother, Thomas Benner and his wife Cynthia of Fredericksburg, VA; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christin Self, infant daughter, Sonya.

Service: A Celebration of Life service for Robert will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in Grace Community Church, 15 W. Ridge St., Lansford, with the Rev. Jeremy Benack officiating.
