Thomas C. Lewis Jr., 80, of Delaware Park, Lopatcong Township, N.J. died Sunday in the Warren Hospital in New Jersey. He was the husband of Doris E. (Moke) Lewis. They observed their 57th wedding anniversary last Oct. 14.

He worked in the quarry of the Hercules Cement Co., Stockertown, for 36 years before retiring in 1990.

Born in Wind Gap, he was a son of the late Thomas C. Lewis Sr. and the late Ethelyn (Bush) Lewis. He was raised in Tatamy and lived in Lopatcong for the last 55 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater.

Lewis was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg, N.J., where he was a former member of the quoit team. He belonged to the Sunny Seniors of Phillipsburg and was a former member of Edelmans Rod and Gun Club.

He enjoyed hunting and working in his garden, raising both vegetables and flowers. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan nearly all his life. As a hobby, he raised pigeons.

The deceased attended Nazareth area schools.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbie M. of Bethlehem Township and Christine E., wife of Douglas Lander of Bethlehem; two brothers, Robert Sr., and his wife, Joyce, of Danielsville, and Vaughn, and his wife, Anna Mae, of Wind Gap; four sisters, Joy, wife of Dale Shollenberger, Beverly Gostony and Linda, wife of Larry Fehnel, all of Nazareth, and Ethelyn, wife of George Lilly of Easton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria Lewis, Virginia Welty and Thelma E. Jones.
