Tyler Kowatch Obituary

Tyler Joseph Kowatch
Tyler Joseph Kowatch, 18, passed away Saturday, May 5, at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia awaiting a heart transplant. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was a senior at Jim Thorpe Area High School, where he competed on the track team.
During his summers he worked as a custodian at the L.B. Morris Elementary School.
He was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and was still celebrating their Super Bowl victory. He loved spending time with his younger brother, Will, hanging out in their game room playing Xbox and watching the show "Rick and Morty."
Tyler is survived by his loving family, including: mother, Marcia (Kowatch) Bynon; father, Steven Bynon; brother William Bynon; Melissa "Auntie M" Kowatch; Grampy Michael Kowatch; Grammy Susan Kowatch; and Grammy Helen Bynon, along with his beloved dogs Deetz and Watson.
Tyler was loved by many and his spirits were raised by the overwhelming show of support and contributions through the #TylerStrong fundraising efforts. Service: A memorial service will held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. James J. Ward officiating. Memorial visitations will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Greek Catholic Cemetery, Nesquehoning.
