Aldo PANAZZOLO Obituary

PANAZZOLO Aldo Aldo Panazzolo, 81, passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1930, to Octavia and Palmiro Panazzolo in North Bergen, N. J. and married Dorothy Weber on September 11, 1954. Al proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He had several patents as a design engineer at O-I. He was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church over 33 years. Al had many talents: oil painting, woodworking and enjoyed opera, fishing, bowling and was an avid poker player and Yankee fan all his life. He was a devoted husband, honest and true and loved his children, Thomas, Jane Lawrence (Jimmy), Diane Hofbauer (Randy); grandchildren, Tiffany (Nick) Queen, Melissa (Billy) and Andrew Hofbauer and great-grandchildren, Corbin Toepfer, all of Perrysburg. He had a dry sense of humor that entertained his family and friends. Children were drawn to him by his smile and kindness. Al was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alfred. Survivors include his loving wife of over 56 years. Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) at 9:00 A.M. with prayers at 10:15 A.M. followed by 11 o'clock Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Church and interment at St. Rose Cemetery. Aldo, you were my older cousin. We had good times when we were young. Going down the shore leaves me with good memories. I'll miss you and our long telephone conversations when I would call you from Florida.

On my lunch break at work, missing you grandpa, but I trust you are having the ultimate time in heaven with your soul at rest ! You were the best grandpa any girl could have wished for and I'm so glad we were so close in this lifetime ! LOVE YOU. Until we meet again in God's kingdom your memories will remain with me forever in my heart.

Remembering a great guy and the association of your family way back in 1978 when the engineering center was moved to Perrysburg and you bought our house on Mallard......one day after we decided to sell it. Gail and I are glad to have known Al. I enjoyed working with him at Lily in Comack and at Bldg 30 in Perrysburg. I'm just sorry we have not seen each other in recent years. We are in Florida in the winter months and Wexford Community in Perrysburg in the warmer months.
