I knew Alex while she was in LA. She left an indelible impression on me; I so miss her sagacity and wit. She saw me fully in a way that is rare, and she still occupies considerable space in my mind. Here's to you Alex... much of her writing can be found at

Alex had my back and was there for me when the world wanted to accuse me of "lying and wanting attention" when i was sexually assaulted. I barely knew her at that time, and she went out of her way to make me feel loved and supported, and to let me know i wasnt alone. Im sorry so much time went by since i saw her, she had a spirit about her that was unlike anyone else. Thank you for shining bright for me when i couldn't, im glad you were my friend. <3 Allison Dow

Leslie & John-I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you.I remember when you first brought Alex home and how thrilled you were to have your little girl! I remember bringing over a little outfit and stuffed animal for her! She was such a sweetie and so cute!!
I can't believe that was 31 years ago! You are in our prayers.

I only knew Alex for a short period yet we connected instantly. She was an amazing person; I loved and valued our friendship immensely. She loved her parents so deeply and would talk about them both all of the time. She was that person that it felt good to occupy the same space as her doing nothing at all or having girl talk or some intellectual conversation. I miss her so much. Prayers to your family.

Very few shared time and space as you. Thank you for having shared some small element of that with me. Deepest of condolences to the family, friends and all effected.

My sympathy and prayers to you, Mr. and Mrs. Reisner. Alex filled her 31 years with passion and compassion for others. May that bring peace to you as loving, supportive parents as you grieve her untimely death. Jane Charette
