WARRICK Sister Alice, OSF 1936-2011 Sister Alice Warrick died on May 18, 2011, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bryan, TX, where she had served as Vice President of Mission Integration for the St. Joseph Health System since 1999 until her death. Sister Alice spent her 56 years in religious life involved in a variety of ministries related to health care. She taught in elementary schools in Minneapolis, MN, for a few years and soon found her niche in nursing as she attended and graduated from Providence School of Nursing in Sandusky, OH. She later became nursing supervisor, director of nursing, assistant administrator and eventually the administrator of Providence Hospital, Sandusky, OH in 1973. She also served as a consultant to the Franciscan Services Corporation, the health care system sponsored by the Sylvania Franciscans. Never one to stop learning and serving others, Sister Alice pursued a nursing home administrator's license and in 1995 went on to become the administrator of St. Ann Nursing Facility affiliated with Providence Hospital in Sandusky. She was instrumental in the development of a retirement community, St. Joseph Manor, affiliated with St. Joseph Health System in Bryan, TX. She was a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and earned a MBA with a concentration in hospital administration from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. Those who knew Sister Alice well remember her as a woman of integrity, kindness, always ready to learn new things, someone who knew how to get things done and someone you could count on when you needed a friend. Her dear friend, Sister Gretchen Kunz, has been the recipient of her gracious and loving care and support for several years and will miss her dearly as will all her Sisters in the Sylvania Franciscan Community. Sister Alice will be missed by her family, friends and many co-workers, especially those in the St. Joseph Health System. The oldest cousin of our family, known to us as Sandy, then Sister Sandy, was admired, remembered as a fine athlete and a bright and caring woman who had such a beautiful warm smile. She was an example to the family to keep learning, to keep helping others. Now she'll be listening to all her dad's stories and jokes! May God be with you Sandy. Tess Warrick McKeon, Clearwater, Fl
