It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amy Brennan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Amy passed away surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.
Amy was born to Carl and Mary Jane Herbert, on November 11, 1956, and grew up with an adventurous spirit and a love for bringing people together. She was a devoted wife to James Brennan, her partner in life and love. Amy was the proud and caring mother of Robert (Carolyn) and Andrea; and a cherished sister to her brother, Joe (Marta), and sister-in-law, Taffy. She was also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, nephews, niece, and numerous cousins. Amy was preceded in death by her parents; and her two loving brothers, Tom and Mike.
Amy's love for her daughter, Andrea, was especially profound. Andrea was born with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, and Amy lovingly dedicated much of her life to being her greatest advocate and caregiver. Amy's patience, compassion, and fierce devotion ensured that Andrea was always surrounded by love and support.
As a grandmother, Amy was fondly known as "Mimi" to her granddaughters, Julia and Molly. She showered them with affection, joy, and more Christmas presents than could fit under the tree. Mimi's love for her granddaughters was boundless, and she leaves behind countless memories of laughter, warmth, and holiday magic.
Amy enjoyed cheering on the Fighting Irish football team with her family and good friends. In the summer months, Amy could be found sharing a cocktail and good laughs with her dear friends at the Toledo Sailing Club. Amy also loved to travel with friends and family, with Myrtle Beach holding a special place in her heart.
Amy's radiant smile, loving embrace, strong will, conviction, and selfless spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a gift to those she met, and her memory will be cherished always.
The family will announce celebration of life arrangements at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Amy's memory by spending time with your loved ones and carrying on her generous and caring spirit.
