Andrew Sekela Obituary
Andrew Martin Sekela, Jr, 91, of West Toledo passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2021. Andrew was born June 9, 1930 in Elkhorn, West Virginia to Andrew Martin Sekela and Mary (Hollis) Sekela. He lived in Washington DC and later in Warren, OH where he graduated from Warren G Harding High School.
He enlisted into the United States Army in March, 1951 and served active duty in the Korean War with the Fifth Army. He married Lethea May Douglas, in Warren, OH on October 27, 1951. He moved his family to Toledo, OH in 1958 and was employed by West Bend Company. In 1966, Andrew took a job with the C&O Railroad and retired from the CSX Railroad in January, 1996.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Lethea M Sekela; four daughters, LeAndrea Sekela, Laurie Durance, Lorinda Kleinfelter and Melanie Harlow; and two sons, Gregory and John. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Theodore (Ted) and David (Linda) Sekela. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew M Sekela and Mary (Hollis) Sekela; his step-father, Lindsey Valente; and his brother, John Sekela.
The family will receive friends at the Peinert-Dunn Funeral home, 7220 Dutch Rd, Waterville from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 20, 2021. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by internment at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, OH.
