Ann King Obituary
09/29/1940 - 09/13/2025
Anna Elizabeth King, 84, formerly of Portsmouth, Ohio, died peacefully surrounded by family on September 13, 2025, at Otterbein Sunset Village in Sylvania, Ohio.
Ann was born on September 29, 1940, in New Boston, Ohio, to Wallace and Lillian (Urick) Crull.
She grew up in Portsmouth, then moved to the Toledo area for 30 years before returning to Portsmouth.
Ann built a successful career in retail management, holding various leadership roles in the Southland Corporation, Dollar General, Rite Aid Drugs, Revco, and CVS.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Toledo, and at Second Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth.
Ann's greatest pride and joy was her family. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids meant the world to her. She celebrated their every achievement, milestone, and triumph.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Walt (Kim) King, Angie (Paul) Kortier, Carla (Bill) Scott, Katie (Rock) Vetell, and Jeremy (Abbey) King; her beloved sisters, Janet Castle, Kay Trogdon, Gail Picklesimer, Judy Morrison, and Mary Crull; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bettie Glanton, Emily Hileman, Inez Charles, Patty Ober, and Helen Royal; and infant brother, Wallace Samuel Crull.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Friday, September 26, at McKinley Funeral Home, in Lucasville, with a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park, in Wheelersburg.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all her caregivers at Otterbein Sunset Village for their amazing, compassionate care; and to Ashanti Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Sierra's Haven (pet shelter) in Portsmouth, Ohio.
