Anthony Fitzgerald Russell, Sr., age 56, of Grosse Pointe, MI, passed away November 21, 2022 at Beaumont Hospital. Anthony was born May 5, 1966 in Toledo to Thomas and Erma (Miller) Russell. He was employed with Axalta Coating Systems for 33 years. Anthony was a member the Worship Ceneter Church, Pioneer Gun Club WSTA and Star Status Cowboys Connection.
In addition to his father, Anthony was also preceded in death by his sister; Kimberly Frazier. He is survived by his mother, Erma J. Russell; son, Anthony Russell, Jr.; daughters, Britney Carter and Antoinette Russell; sister, Crystal Russell; brothers, Spencer Russell and Garland; 2 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive guests Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Family hour will be Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at The Worship Center, 2210 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH. (419-244-2100). Burial will be held at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, OH.

Dear Cousin,
Just want to say I'm truly going to miss you. My heart is hurting and I know I told you If I never say it again and you left before me you went knowing this cousin LOVES you. As I reminisce we both were young you were younger then me at that time you were known affectionately as Wewee when you started walking you had those beginners navy blue brick bottom bottom shoes they were so hard I know cause when you would see me you KICK me right in my Shen as hard as you could and take off running laughing with that slubbery mouth. I feel the pain right now only I can't fight back the tear. When you became of age you wanted to hang with your Ole cuz and so we did until you found your own way to go. I could go on and on we made some memories together thank you for allowing us to share time together.

My sincere condolences to the Russell Family. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Anthony was a great guy! It was always a pleasure seeing him at trapshoots, and Facebook kept us in touch. I think we may have ribbed each other a couple times about our football preferences (I'm a Washington Fan, staunch enemy of the Cowboys! LOL). May God continue to keep Anthony's children, grandchildren, mother and siblings during this sorrowful time.

TRuss will be greatly missed. The golf trips during the 3rd weekend in March won´t be the same without him. He loved finding those watch/hats/clothes deals at the mall we all had to see after golfing each day. Those talks about the Dallas Cowboys and University of North Carolina basketball during March Madness will be missed. He was family to us and like a brother. May God Bless the Russell Family.........TRuss was our guy.

I will miss our conversations about the Cowboys or the Buckeyes.
