Antonette Hoen Obituary

Antonette S. Hoen

Antonette (Toni) S. Hoen, age 69, of Delta, Ohio, a beloved educator and cherished matriarch, entered into eternal life Monday morning, January 20, 2025, at StoryPoint in Waterville, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband, Michael. Born on July 8, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anton and LaVerne (Piotrowski) Schlesinger, Toni illuminated the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and compassion.

Toni had a profound commitment to nurturing young minds. She was a special education teacher at Anthony Wayne Junior High, where her influence will long be remembered by her students and colleagues alike. Her educational journey began at Parma High School, where her dedication to learning blossomed. She continued her education at The Ohio State University, earning her Bachelor's in Education. She expanded her career by completing her Masters degree at Bowling Green State University, while working and raising her family.

Toni was revered as a "Super Mom" and a loving grandmother. She took great joy in engaging with her children and grandchildren, serving as a steadfast chauffeur, taking them to many extracurricular activities. She took pride in raising four wonderful children, Rebecca Murry (Andy Miller), Emily (Joshua) Early, William (Lauren) Hoen, and Melissa (Tyler) Imfeld, each of whom carry forward her legacy of being "nice and kind and gentle." Additionally, she was blessed with the delight of ten grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her presence and devotion.

In her personal life, Toni was deeply committed to her family, helping her husband operate the farm, which underscored her strong work ethic and unwavering support for those she loved. Toni was also musically gifted - she played the flute and piano - and passed down her love of music to her children. She was also a devout Catholic and regularly attended Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and LaVerne (Piotrowski) Schlesinger; and her father and mother-in-law, William and Margaret Hoen.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Michael; her children; grandchildren; and her brother, Mark (Kathleen) Schlesinger. All of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
