In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To the Takacs Family:
You do not know me but I just wanted to tell you what a beautiful son you have and know that God must of been out of 'Angels' and that is why He picked your son. I am sure Austin is already in some kind of sport leading the pack and enjoying the company of many children who God has chosen to be with Him. I know how much you miss your son Austin, but remember that he is in a place where love surrounds him daily and you will always have him in your hearts. If you believe in God and trust Him as your Savior you will meet Austin again in that beautiful place called 'Heaven'. Always remember the memories you cherished with Austin and he will be with you every day for the rest of your lives with that beautiful smile on his face. May God comfort all of you during this time of need.

I wanted to thank you for the awesome pleasure of being able to play a season of baseball with Austin. I will never forget the looks on his face when he truly had had it with me and my "orders" (keep that elbow up, plant your foot, swing it through, blah blah blah). I will also never forget the day he actually got hold of a pitch and the ball just flew! I knew then that he was a very special guy and that he came from a family that loved him with all their hearts. Thank you so very much for the privilage of spending time with him. Dearest Takacs Family,
We know there are not words to express the feeling of loss you are having at this most difficult time, nor are there words to express the magnitude of concern we all have for you and your family and friends.
Our prayer is that, in time, you will find the inner peace that the Lord has for you.
Our belief is that we will all be together again one day. This may seem a bittersweet thought as I know you all want only for Austin to be here with you.
Remember Austin and what he would have wanted. He would certainly not want you to spend too long being sad.
Austin is with the Lord now.
He is safe and waiting for the day you will all be together again.
May you all find the strength in each other and in the memories of Austin's wonderful life to move forward with your own lives and live them to the fullest....just as Austin did.
October 19, 2008

To the Parents and Family of Austin:
My wife and I passed Eisenhower Middle School on our way to Maumee Bay this past weekend and noticed the flag at half staff and saw the sign commemorating Austin. When we reached the resort we saw Austin's obituary in the Toledo Blade. You do not know us, but I wanted you to know how much we share in your loss. We too lost our child this past summer. There can be no greater pain than the pain that you are now feeling. We know. God grant you the strength to deal with this and may Austin forever inspire your love for all those that you hold dear. I'll Be There
Daddy please don't look so sad,
Momma please don't cry,
Cause I am in the arms of Jesus and
He sings me lullabies.
Please try not to question God,
Don't think He is unkind.
Don't think He sent me to you,
And then He changed His mind.
You see, I am a Special Child,
And I am needed up above,
I'm the special gift you gave Him,
The product of your love.
I'll always be there with you,
And watch the sky at night
Find the brightest star that's gleaming,
That's my halo's brilliant light
You'll see me in the morning frost,
That mists your windowpane.
That's me, in the summer showers,
I'll be dancing in the rain.
When you feel a gentle breeze,
From a gentle wind that blows,
That's me, I'll be there, Planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing,
And your heart feels a little tug,
That's me, I'll be there, giving your heart a hug.
So, daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mommy don't you cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus,
and He sings me lullabies.

I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I can't imagine what you are feeling with the loss of Austin. I have 3 children (ages 15 & twins 11). I can't even begin to imagine my life without them. God has another angel in heaven. My father (Bob Richards)who passed 3 years ago, spoke highly of your family, which he would always come to your store to purchase things for Oak Shade Grove & himself. Time will heal. What you are experiencing must feel like a nightmare that you cannot wake up from. All of the wishes and prayers in the world cannot bring your beautiful boy home again. Yet every person that has heard of this tragedy cannot help but send their support and love and prayers to you, for fear that we would be the ones having to face exactly how vulnerable and fragile life truely is. Your family has been blessed to have had your shooting star for the briefest of moments. He touched the lives of so many while he lived and in his passing, he has reminded us all of life's imperfection and of the importance of the time we are given

Hope Austins family enjoys this poem. I just lost my husband and It helped me.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
Love Austin
