Barbara Sbach Day, lovingly known to family and friends as "Bebe," was born on December 14, 1947, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Mary Helen and Elmer Sbach. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away February 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.

Barbara graduated from Blissfield High School before earning her bachelor's degree in accounting from Toledo University and later obtaining her CPA. She began her career at Peat Marwick, however the majority of her professional life was devoted to working at Dana Corporation as a tax accountant.

On February 10, 1979, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Day. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership grounded in love, faith, and shared commitment to family. Together they built a home filled with warmth, kindness, and steady support; the kind of home where everyone felt welcome and cared for.

Barbara was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, Carolyn Day (Greg Marso) and Emelie (Jacob) Simpson, who were the pride and joy of her life. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being "Bebe" to her grandchildren, Ayden (12), Jackson (10), Thomas (7), and Charlie (4). She delighted in their laughter, celebrated their milestones, and loved them with a tenderness that will remain with them forever.

She is survived by her husband; daughters; sons-in-law; grandsons; brother, Sonny (Ann) Sbach; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Sbach. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dennis Sbach.

Barbara lovingly cared for her mother for many years, a reflection of her selfless and devoted heart. During that time, she also welcomed three adopted dogs into her home, who quickly became cherished members of her family. Barbara was a natural caregiver, always putting others before herself, caring not only for her mother and pets, but also for her husband, children, and grandchildren with unwavering love and dedication.

Her faith guided her life and her actions. She served in the flower guild and as a reader at St. Timothy's Church, volunteered for Read for Literacy in local schools, participated in the Sylvania Community Garden, and was a proud Master Gardener. Barbara didn't just talk about helping others, she quietly showed up and did the work. She believed in caring for people, nurturing beauty, and leaving things better than she found them.

She found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments: reading a good book, tending her garden, pulling weeds with patience, playing cards, traveling with family and friends, and especially watching sunsets at the lake, also known as "Bebe sunsets." These sunsets reflect her spirit: calm, warm, steady, and beautiful.

Barbara's final journey was marked by a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, which she faced with unwavering faith and quiet strength. Despite this diagnosis, it never defined who she was; it only revealed the depth of her strength, faith, and grace. She never complained, trusting fully in God's plan, and instead embraced each day as a gift. She cherished the time she had with her loved ones and walked faithfully along the path the Lord had set before her, finding peace in His presence and promise.

Barbara had a rare gift of bringing peace to those around her. She was thoughtful, wise, and deeply faithful. She listened without judgment, loved without conditions, and gave without expecting anything in return. She was a true giver and doer; someone who walked the walk every day of her life. The world is undeniably better because she was in it.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her loyal and devoted friends for their love, support, and companionship, which meant so much to Barb and to all of us during this time.

Though her family's hearts are broken, they find comfort knowing her love continues to guide them. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the faith she modeled, and the family she nurtured so deeply.

She will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered forever.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 27th, from 5:00–8:00 p.m., at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 871 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio. The memorial service will take place Saturday, February 28th, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
