Barbara Dyal Obituary

DYAL

Barbara C. (Long)

Barbara C. (Long) Dyal, 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away August 2, 2013, at The Toledo Hospital, with loving family by her side. Barb was born in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Leo and Sophie (Kwiatkowski) Long.

Barb was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a secretary at Champion Spark Plug. She was also a member of the Toledo Police Retirees Organization. Barb was married in 1961 to her best friend Larry. After marriage Barb dedicated her time as a homemaker, baking, canning and gardening. She and her husband loved to travel and did so extensively. Larry is a master at woodcrafts and she enjoyed displaying and selling his many projects. Barb spent any spare time bowling or reading a good book. She had a true passion caring for others and was always willing to lend a hand when the need would arise. Her love of life was apparent in everything she did.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Dyal; her Shih Tzu, Tootsie; "adopted" granddaughter, Tori Slupecki; special friends, George and Jeanne Uscilowski; sisters-in-law, Pearl (James) Ramsden and B. Helen Summersett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she held dear to her heart.

Friends may join the family for a Gathering on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH from 3:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service begins at 6:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a contribution in Barb's memory may wish to consider Light the Night Charity. We were all so saddened to hear of their passing. They were wonderful people who always had a kind word to say to us. They loved their dog Tootsie and we were so glad to have had the chance to take care of her, and because of that, to have a chance to know both Barb and Larry. We will greatly miss both of them.

OMG, I was thinking of Barbara for the past few days, wondering if I could connect with her on Facebook. I was a school mate of Barbara at St. Stanislaus. In 8th grade there were three girls named Barbara out of the 9 girls. There was Barbara Long, I was nicknamed Barbara Short, and Barbara Haney. I often wondered if Barbara continued playing the organ. Coincidently I also was a secretary at Champion Spark Plug. Rest in Peace Barbara.
