Christina Russell Obituary
Christina was born Sept. 17, 1962, in Sitka to David S. and Marlene (Kennedy) Russell. She grew up and attended school in Sitka, graduating from Sitka High School. She also lived in Seattle and Anchorage. She made Fairbanks her home for the past 15 years. She loved Sitka and always considered it home.
Chris always had a smile and positive attitude. She loved being on the water and fishing with her many friends. Photography and cooking also were her passions. She especially enjoyed cooking for friends and for elders. Christmas was her favorite time of year with its gathering of family and friends.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Marlene and Del Cesar; sisters, Beverly Russell (husband Les Jensen) of Juneau and Janice Craver (husband Andrew) of Connecticut; nephew, David Russell Jensen of Juneau; nieces, Tamara, Rebecca and Melissa Craver of Connecticut; aunts, Janet Duncan of Ketchikan and Christina Kennedy of Juneau; uncle, Homer Russell and family of Kotzebue; and step-brothers Lance and David Cesar and step-sister Nancy Maki of Juneau.
Christina was preceded in death by her father, David, and brother, Michael.
A memorial service will be held in Sitka at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, at the Naa Kahida Community House. A reception will follow the service.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Chris. Yes, Chris you will be missed by a whole lot of people that love you. Also, you have always put smiles on people's faces with that glowing smile of yours, so you see my friend, your spirit will always be with me. I only knew Christina for a short time, but I was impressed by her big smile and twinkling eyes. I was with her the day that she prayed to receive Jesus Christ as her Saviour. She has entered the joy of the presence of her Lord. Christina, my sister in Christ, I'll see you in heaven with that big smile.
