Berthold Fleitz Obituary
Berthold "Bert" J. Fleitz, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on September 28, 2021, at the age of 100 at the Genoa Care Center. Mr. Fleitz was born on February 21, 1921, to John and Margaret (Goetz) Fleitz. He was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Corps for three years. He married Anna Marie Foos on April 7, 1947.
After graduating from B.G.S.U. with an education degree, he began his teaching career at Luckey, Ohio and at Northwood Olney High School. He transferred to the Oregon City Schools and in 1950 became the Assistant Principal at Clay High School. He retired in 1985.
For more than twenty years after his retirement, he volunteered at St. Charles Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church.
He is survived by his son, Paul (Cheryl) Fleitz of Oregon; daughters, Carol (Kenneth) Phillips of Perrysburg, Janet (Greg) Vay of Fostoria, and Donna Fleitz of Perrysburg; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Robert Fleitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, of 62 years, Marie; and his sister, Catherine Mangas.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where family will receive guests after 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Ignatius Church or Cherry Street Mission.

So sorry for your loss. Always enjoyed Facebook posts and pictures with his family. Many great memories over the years. I am unable to attend his mass as I have to take a friend to radiation therapy. Sending love and prayers to the entire family.
