Brenda Blayz Obituary
On Thursday, November 15, 2018, Brenda Sue Blayz passed away after a short battle with cancer at the age of 60. Brenda was born on August 7, 1958, to Charles Blayz and Carol Sue (Hiser) Blayz in Toledo, Ohio.
Brenda dedicated more than half of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Brenda received her nursing diploma from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1979. She was highly regarded by doctors and patients alike for her work ethic, extensive knowledge in the areas of nursing and medicine, and compassion for her patients.
In her free time, Brenda enjoyed numerous hobbies including reading, knitting, gardening, cooking, and caring for her rescue dog, Scruffy. Never one to waste a moment of life or ounce of talent, she was always working on several projects of which her family and friends were always envious.
Above all else, the greatest joy of Brenda's life came from her two daughters, Gretchen (Peace) Lortz and Melinda (Mindy Peace) Langenderfer, and her two granddaughters, Madison and Olivia Langenderfer. Though she leaves a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled, we know that every second of grief that we feel is a result of the immeasurable gift that we received from being a part of her life.
In addition to her daughters and granddaughters, Brenda is survived by her father, Charles Blayz; sisters, Beth Blayz and Jennifer Riebesel, and nephew, John Riebesel.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Carol, and brother, Jeffrey.
Brenda's life will be celebrated in a private memorial for immediate family and close friends.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the exceptional care and support provided to Brenda and her family. Memorial contributions in memory of Brenda may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road Perrysburg, OH 43551.
