Brody Jones Obituary

Brody Brocke Jones

The world lost an amazing person when Brody passed away suddenly on Tuesday May 22, 2018. He was the loving husband of Angie Charlton Jones and the stepfather of three loving children, Mason, Cooper and Avery. They were married in a lakeside ceremony in July of 2017. Angie and her children brought him great love and happiness.

Brody was born on Flag Day, June 14th, 1975. He attended St. Aloysius School and graduated from BGHS in 1993. He was in tennis, choir, madrigals and in a singing group of friends in High School. He was known for wearing shorts to school his entire senior year including the Prom. He loved to sing and recite movie quips and enjoyed mimicking movie characters and their voices.

Brody then went to BGSU for a time before pausing to work at Tireman as Assistant Manager for several stores. He then continued his education graduating with a Business Administration degree from Spring Arbor while he maintained his full time job. He then joined Bridgestone where he represented their brand of tires in the Ohio/Michigan region.

Later he joined JAM Tire as a partner. After a few years at JAM, he then worked at Midas before joining MSX International, assisting the regional area Quicklane Stores and improving sales techniques. After several years, this led him to be offered the Manager of all service, parts, body shop and Quicklane operations at Jorgensen Ford. He was proud that his team's hard work raised their customer satisfaction rating to one of the highest ratings in the area in a few short months. He enjoyed the challenge of pleasing people and providing prompt, caring, trusted professional service. His word was his bond.

He had a smile for everyone and an infectious laugh, playing tricks or scaring people all while laughing at their reaction. He was a trickster from an early age to his father, mother and sisters. He was emotional and sympathetic and could make people feel comfortable in a very short conversation. He loved his "buds" and spent hours playing golf, poker, euchre, gambling and he was always in for a party. He was known as a Golf Tee master at the bars. He enjoyed wildlife dinners, gun raffles, hunting trips and fishing with family and friends. The Bro-ster was a huge Michigan and BGSU fan. He liked all sports and going to sporting events but mostly wanted to spend time with friends.

Brody was always all about his loving family, caring for family and his aging parents. He cherished his time with his mother, often just talking about life and seeking her advice. Like his proud father he learned to love tools, guns and appreciated 4 wheelers, cars, trucks, boats, snowmobiles and tractors. He was his father's son in so many ways. People would often point that out when they were together due to their similar voice and mannerisms. Everyone loved him as much or more than he loved them.

He enjoyed boating and taking the kids tubing and knee boarding or on a wave runner ride. He was the "Grill Master" at family events. He enjoyed helping his parents with their endless projects at home and at the lake, only to lighten the burden on them as they became less able to accomplish their many tasks. When not doing that, he was at many events and sporting activities with his children or nieces and nephews, and often drove countless miles to be part of their many proud moments.

There was no better husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin or friend. Being a great family person was natural. Being a great friend to way too many people to mention was his passion. It is what he loved to do. He enjoyed their relationships, spending time, helping them with projects and an occasional party. He was there for them in their happy moments and to share in their sad times. He was grateful for the wonderful long lasting relationships with his neighbors in Dundee.

His family and friends loved him and enjoyed his infamous hugs. There were Brody hugs, Bear hugs, and Monkey hugs. They were all the best. Bro also had a gift of gab when it came to dealing with selling or buying. He could sell snow to Eskimos, and they would be happy. That smile and charisma charmed many people into a deal they originally resisted. Many times these deals turned into friendships.

Our happy memories of his smiles, tricks and jokes are timeless and endless. He was a kind and gentle person and trusting soul that was taken from those he loved way too early in life. He will be loved and missed by many people as he left a lasting legacy of family, friendship and love. His was a life to emulate and to be proud, for all that he accomplished. He will be missed but never forgotten.

We could not be more proud of the man he was and the life he lived. He will be forever in our hearts as we strive to live the life he would have wanted for us all. God has called home one of His very best. It will take a very long time to accept and understand God's plan, but we enjoyed him and created memories for almost 43 years and for that we should be thankful.

The Joneses and Brody were blessed with a very large family that not only tried to get together frequently but truly enjoyed each others company, talking, joking, laughing while playing cards is a family tradition. Angie and her children were part of that family and welcomed with open arms. Along with his wife and children, Brody left his loving family, father Jack and mother Teri; his wonderful sisters and their husbands, Micah (Tim) Roberts and Ashley (Ryan) Bridges; loving nephew and nieces, Tyler, Audrina, and Kensington Roberts and Aliyah, Adalyn, and Alivia Bridges. We were blessed to enjoy a loving family of seven aunts and uncles, 18 cousins and eight spouses all with their 23 children, many of whom considered Brody to be their brother. He was blessed to have and be loved by his extended Charlton/Bugaj family who more recently shared Brody's life: Angie's mother Chris (Don), father Don (Christine), and sister Jennie (Jason) with their children, Abby, Emma, Olivia and Aidan.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Toledo, OH. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a luncheon celebration of his life. Burial will be a private ceremony following the luncheon. Donations can be for his children's fund, the American Heart Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those family and friends for their many, many heartfelt messages with thoughts and prayers. Online condolences and memories can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.

Dear Jack and the members of the Jones family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Brody's obituary provided some very special insight into the type of man he was and to just how much you will all cherish his memory. While it is certainly difficult to accept, please find comfort in the fact that the Lord must have something very special in mind for Brody. Rest assured that when you are all reunited again, Brody will be waiting with his hugs and smiles, and oh the stories he will have to share with all of you.

God bless you all during this difficult time, you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
