Candice Bee Obituary

Candice "Candy" Bee

7/14/1949 - 9/13/2023

Candice "Candy" Bee (Richmond), age 74, of Holland, OH, passed away in Hospice care on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Candy was born on July 14, 1949, to John and Vivian Richmond, in Toledo. She graduated from Whitmer High School, and had two children, Jamie Mandeville (Chick) and James Chick, both of Toledo.

In 1982, she met Randall "Randy" Bee and they married in 1983. She gained a son, Randall "RJ" Bee II, and Candy and Randy were married until Randy suddenly passed in 2014.

"Nana" was always there for her grandkids, Madison, Payton, Brady, Maya, Franklin and Cassidy. She loved spending time with her family, and was an avid Michigan or Ohio State fan, depending on which of her children she was supporting that day.

She had a long career at Libbey Glass, and worked hard to take care of her family. She could often be found at the kitchen table, surrounded by family, enjoying a drink, and music-Chicago, Billy Joel, or any oldies.

Candy's family is particularly grateful for memories of "the cottage," a summer destination in Reading, MI. Boat rides, bonfires, and music and celebration strengthened the family bond over those many summers.

Candy is survived by her children, Jamie Mandeville (Tim Geise), Jim (Becky) Chick, and RJ (Rachel) Bee; and grandchildren, Madison Mandeville, Payton Chick (Avery McDonald), Brady Chick, Maya Bee, Franklin Bee, and Cassidy Bee.

Candy is also survived by sisters, Cheri (Mike) Rickheim and Cindy (Ken) Montri; along with nephews and nieces, including Mike (Amy) Rickheim and Lisa (Chris) Dulski (both of whom claim to be Nana's favorite), Jayson (Eryn) Cessna, Lindsey Larsh, and Kylie Montri.

There will be no services, but the family requests that any donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, which provided thoughtful and empathic care at the end of Candy's life.

Candy and Cheri were my best friends growing up. Next door neighbors, lake buddies, Barbies, learning to whistle on Aunt Faye´s porch, playing until the street lights came on, catching lightening bugs, such was our neighborhood life in the 50´s. Although we lost track when we all moved away, our mom´s kept in touch through their Bunco Club. . Then we were able to reconnect through Facebook, even if it was for a short time. Those who have touched our lives, stay in our hearts and memories forever. Dear family, enjoy a few pictures of your mom as a little girl. My heart breaks for you and I will pray for peace and comfort for you all at this difficult time.

My condolences to Jamie, Jimmy, RJ & family. As Randy´s golf partner for 14 years in HBA at Whiteford Valley and close friend for 30 years I have so many fond memories. As a Knewbee to the Reading cottage I was given the bedroom/pump room as initiation. Not much rest to be had there as the pump seemed to go off every fifteen minutes all night long as various guests visited the comfort station.
Rest in peace Candy.
God Bless

Candy was a fun lady to be around. Worked with her many years at Libbey Glass and always that beautiful smile on her face. My condolences to her family and may she RIP in Heaven with her Mom, Dad and beloved Randy.
