Carl DuVall Obituary

Carl D. DuVall

1954 - 2025

Carl D. DuVall, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by love and memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on September 4, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, Carl was a devoted family man whose life was marked by joy, laughter, and a profound dedication to his craft.

Carl's professional journey as a Master Mechanic for Chrysler/Jeep exemplified his commitment to excellence and innovation. His vast knowledge and skills in the mechanical field made him a respected figure among his peers, earning him admiration throughout his career. Yet, it was his life outside of work that truly defined his spirit. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Carl had a profound love for fishing. He relished every moment spent teaching his beloved grandchildren the art of fishing, creating lifelong memories that would foster a deep appreciation for nature in the young minds he cherished.

A man of great warmth and humor, Carl loved to tell jokes and share laughter with family and friends. His patriotic spirit and respect for veterans were evident in his honoring of those who served. It was this blend of creativity and practicality that made him not only very handy but also a cherished presence in the lives of many.

Carl's personality shone brightly through his diverse hobbies, which included fishing, martial arts, and hunting, as well as enjoying the peacefulness of time spent at the family cabin in Michigan and fishing on the Maumee River.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lori DuVall; daughter, Casey (Bradley) Van Camp; son, Carl (Kellie) DuVall; stepdaughter, Heather Canby; stepson, Thomas (Mandi) Canby; grandchildren, Tyler and Shelby Van Camp, Tori, Kylee, and CJ DuVall, Jacob (Brooke) and Lucas Wawrzyniak, Tyler Wanless, Embeth, Marin, and Kora Canby; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Thomas and Alaina; and siblings, David (Julie) DuVall, Kathy Wilson, Linette (Ron) Van Camp, Karen (Ed) Painter, Roger (Brenda) DuVall, and Scott (Mary) DuVall. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Evelyn DuVall; and his sister, Darlene Skolnik.

A visitation will be held on July 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio.
