Carl HOVEY Obituary

HOVEY Carl H. Carl H. Hovey, of Lambertville, MI passed away suddenly in Hillsdale, MI, while hunting on Monday, December 12, 2011. Carl was born in Toledo, OH, September 16, 1930, to parents Grace and Hartwell Hovey, who preceded him in death, as well as his sister, Charlotte Barton. Carl loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He was a graduate of Burnham High School, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Shriner, a member of the FOE, American Legion, and a 25 year volunteer at the Jamie Farr Tournament. Carl is survived by his wife, Patricia; sister, Lynette Church; children, Carl M. Hovey, Garry (Becky) Jones, & Susan (Kim) Dubendorfer; along with many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2011, at 1 p.m., at Connie's Celebrations, located on Lewis Avenue, followed by a reception, where memories can be shared and old acquaintances renewed. The family would suggest tributes to Wildlife Association or Toledo Humane Society. Dear Pat, so sorry to hear of Carl's unexpected passing.We have never met but I have had the priviledge of hunting deer with Carl the past three years at Rocky's hunting camp. The gang at the camp will miss him dearly, especially his 'toasts' to most anything and "OH MY" his great deer chili.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during yhese trying times.
