Carol Ann Zenk

In Loving Memory

Mrs. Carol Ann Zenk, age 90, of Wauseon, Ohio, embraced eternal peace on Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2024, as she was reunited with her beloved husband, David L. Zenk. Born on April 7, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, Carol was the cherished daughter of Jacob Frank and Esther Welter.

Carol's journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to education and a deep love for her family. She graduated from Swanton High School in 1952 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Mary Manse College in Toledo in 1956. On December 26, 1962, she married her childhood sweetheart, David Zenk, sharing 57 years of love and companionship until his passing on December 22, 2020.For over three decades, Carol dedicated herself to nurturing young minds as a devoted 4th-grade teacher at Crestwood Elementary School. Her impact on her students extended far beyond the classroom, shaping the lives of countless children with her kindness, patience, and dedication.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Carol found joy in exploring the world. She delighted in traveling across the country, with a particular fondness for visits to Hawaii and Alaska. Additionally, she had a passion for collecting unique treasures, each item a reflection of her vibrant spirit and appreciation for life's beauty.

Carol is survived by her brother, Charles (and Darlene) Welter and his family, John and Ashley Junkin (Welter), Christopher and Jessica Schieber (Welter), John and Courtney Degnan (Welter).
