Clinton E.
Clinton E. Dickens, 94, of Oregon, passed away at his home on January 18, 2017. He was born in Arnett, West Virginia on April 6, 1922 to Leonard and Myrtle (Cook) Dickens. Clinton was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He started working in the West Virginia Coal Mines before relocating to Ohio where he became a diesel mechanic working at Dundee Truck Lines before retiring in 1980. He was a very religious man, loved to listen to Gospel Music and read the Bible. He was a member of the former Harborview Baptist Church. Clinton was a man of many talents. He loved carpentry, gardening, and putting puzzles together. The most important thing to Clinton was getting to spend time with his beloved family.
Clinton is survived by his children, Larry (Mary), Earnie (Dianne), Eddy (Kim), Joanne (Rollie) McQuestion; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Peters and Imojean Cantly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 74 years, Margaret; son, Jerry; daughters-in-law, Laverne, Bonnie and Sue.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Clinton's name are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
