BISHOP

Cynthia Helen (Havers)

Cynthia H. Bishop (Havers) passed away July 16, 2015, at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. She was born January 13, 1948, to Bruce and Virginia Havers (Long). The family moved to Toledo where she lived all her life, except for 1 year in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and 1 year in Miami, FL. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1968 and graduated from Univ. of Toledo. She worked at Disc Records, Peaches, and Hoffritz in management; then at Lion Store and Dillard's. Later she was a tutor at U of T. She traveled through Europe in the early 70s with friends, camping and visiting many countries. She was married 20 years to Jim Bishop and has 1 son, Jason, and stepdaughter, Jennifer. They traveled out east every summer while married, visiting friends and relatives and going to the horse racetrack in Saratoga, NY. Cyn was a very intelligent woman who read a lot and enjoyed Michigan Radio and NPR. Psychology was a main interest. She was always concerned about people with disabilities or those in need. She loved to get together with friends and discuss almost anything. Cyn had many friends throughout her life, of varied nationalities.

She is survived by her son, Jason (Emily); stepdaughter, Jennifer Bishop Churchill; mother, Virginia Corsini (Larry); sister, Pam Havers (John Duslak); brother, Greg Havers (Deb); nieces, Rachel (Shawn) Dyk and Jessica (Ryan) Weaver; nephew, Matt Havers; favorite aunt and uncle, Doris and Ron Winslow; stepsisters, Linda Henderson and Dora Corsini; stepbrother, John (Barb) Corsini. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Havers; ex-husband, Jim Bishop, and longtime friend, Hoover Liddell.

She will be missed for her wit, intelligence and compassion.
