Daniel Artz Obituary

Daniel A. Artz

Daniel A. Artz, 60 of Perrysburg, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his Perrysburg residence. He was born December 5, 1958 to Kenneth and Evelyn (Agosti) Artz in Oregon, OH. He married Connie M. Mockenstrum at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, on November 10, 2001. Dan and Connie have celebrated over 17 years of marriage together. He worked at the Ohio-Michigan Paper Co., Bauer Landscaping and most recently as a Department Manager at Rudolph Libbe. Dan was an avid sports fan of both baseball and basketball. He was a serious fan of the Detroit sports teams, but when it came to the Ohio State Buckeyes, there was no one more dedicated. He loved to work in his yard and it was in the landscaping of his lawn, that he found a great deal of peace and joy, and it showed.

In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by his daughter: Brittany (Jesse) Hamilton of MI, father: Kenneth I. Artz of Perrysburg, sister: Pamela (Dave Welch) Knight of Toledo, brother: Michael (Sherri) Artz of Toledo, father-in-law: Gerald Mockenstrum of Perrysburg, sisters-in-law: Carol (Gerry) Koch of MI, Sue (Brian) Banas of Perrysburg, brothers-in-law: Larry Mockenstrum of Sylvania, Tim (Dana) Mockenstrum of Holland, loved and cherished by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother: Evelyn Artz and mother-in-law: Thelma Mockenstrum.

Family and friends will be received 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville. OH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg. Celebrant will be Fr. George Wenzinger. Interment will be in Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials take the form of contributions to: The family or for the Mass intentions of Dan c/o St. Rose Catholic Church. Dan, I only briefly knew you when you chanced to introduce yourself to me after seeing my 1967 Pontiac Firebird in the driveway. We had a great chat about cars; you told me about your love for Pontiacs, but alas, had only a short time left in this world. I had hoped to call you again and kept your name and phone on a slip of paper I kept in my desk. I am sad that we were'nt able to connect again after discovering that you had passed. RIP brother, we will talk cars when we someday meet again!

I am so very very sorry. Dan was a wonderful fun loving guy. He loved his wife and daughter so much. His great sense of humor will be missed. He's the only one that could get me to laugh no matter what the situation. I will cherish all my memories. So glad we stayed close over the years. I love and deeply miss you my friend. We will meet again. Love you
