Daniel Calmes Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel A. Calmes. Dan passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He had recently been released from Toledo Hospital where he had a kidney removed.
Dan graduated from Lake Local School and attended the University of Toledo. His places of employment include Sears, Libbey Owens Ford and NFO, from where he retired.
Dan never met a stranger and had an infectious smile that made him easy to enjoy being around. He was an incredible artist and had numerous drawings, paintings, and glass sand blasted treasures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laurine Calmes; his sister, Donna; and brother, Mike. Dan also lost his only child, Wendi years ago. Surviving are his sisters, Connie and Colleen; grandchildren, Luke and Devon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Upon Dan's wishes he will be cremated, and his remains will be with his parents at Lake Township Cemetery. There will be a memorial celebrating Dan's awesome life on Saturday, March 23, from 5-9:00 p.m. at the Electrical Industry Building, 727 Lime City Road in Rossford.

Dan and I dated in high school and college. He was a great guy and we had a of fun together. I admired him for his independent learning. I was a school girl, but if he wanted to learn something he find material that taught him what he wanted to learn. Oh, and his car "Prince" from high school and college. Fond memories.

We are so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. My sincere sympathy to Connie, Colleen and family. Growing up in the same neighborhood, Dan knew how to have fun playing jokes and making everyone laugh and have a good time. He will be missed.

My memory of Dan was his smile. He always seemed happy. My thoughts and prayers are with Colleen and Connie at this sad time.
