Daniel Slayton Obituary
12/30/1944 - 8/8/2023
Daniel Paul Slayton, 78, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at St. Clare Commons. Dan was born December 30, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Rose Slayton. He graduated from Macomber High School and then joined the Army National Guard. Dan married Marilyn McGreevy on July 19, 1969.
Dan joined the Toledo Police force and served for over 30 years. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford and the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul.
Along with his wife, Marilyn, Dan is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer (Darrell) Maxwell, Julie (Nick) Razzoog and Heather (Chad) Achenbach; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Audriana, Brian, Nicholas, Olivia and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Gabriel. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jeffery Slayton.
Friends and family will be received Friday, August 11, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio where a funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Dementia Foundation. Condolences may be made online to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.

Most heartfelt condolences to the Slayton family.Tom,Cindy and John we are thinking of you.As a neighbor of the Slayton family in W.Toledo I can say we always enjoyed the friendship, and fun that their household generated in the growing up years. You could always smell the good Hungarian food! I also enjoyed teaching Heather at Toledo Central Catholic.
