Darlene Kern Obituary

KERN

Darlene R.

It is with a heavy heart and a deep seated love for my Momma that I write this tribute in honor of her. Because the Bible says, "Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." (Exodus 20:12) The first commandment with a promise.

What a lady! A true "Purple Heart" kind of a person. Married to my father for 64 years, the man she mourned daily. For you see, you simply cannot be married to someone all those years and not mourn them every day. Her mourning has ceased now, because she too is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ united with my father as well. A Biblical fact that I am so grateful to claim, (Romans 10: 9 & 10) she was "precious" to me and "cherished" by those who chose to love her in return. She has no more pain, sorrow, suffering or fear and for that I am truly grateful. She was 86 years old when she died on October 5, 2015, and upon her request, she was buried alongside my father who went to Heaven on October 9, 2012.

TO MY MOMMA

It was hard to watch you suffer,

Even harder to let you go.

But I know that GOD is with you,

HE won't fail you, this I know.

For HE has a plan for all of us,

Even to the very end.

For HE walked you over Jordan,

As your true and "perfect friend."

I can't go with you right now dear Mom,

I must try to find some JOY,

For my memories are a gift from GOD,

That will never be destroyed.

I LOVE YOU MOMMA!

Rita

Words can not express how deeply sad I am at the loss of my grandmother. There are so many wonderful stories and memories I have of her and with her! She was by far the best grandma anyone could ask for. She was so very smart...just a wealth of knowledge; giving beyond belief...you couldn't leave her house without her giving you a bag full of goodies; extremely joyous when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came around and hands down the best example of a loving wife and faithful spouse. I miss her tremendously and I look forward to the day when I will see both her and my grandpa again. I love you both!

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

My deepest condolences I can't even begin to express for a woman who was as beautiful on the inside as she was the outside. She had a smile that just "lit up a room" and made every single person she knew feel as though they had been friends with her forever.

I am so very thankful for all the love and care she received from her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, especially after
her husband died to be able to remain at home and be surrounded by her loving family daily.

Prayers and blessings for my dear friend, Rita and her family.

Love in Christ, MaryJo Atherine

I worked at Churchills Markets 47 years and what a sight for sore eyes you were when you would show up with the part we needed for a machine. Once my wife went with me to look at you new windows and not only showing us but giving us cookies and treating us very cordially too. We got the same windows on your recommendation. You meet many people over a life time in business and some you remember because they are special, always friendly, smiling, and pleasant. The world will miss you Mrs. Kern.
