David Pohorecki Obituary
David T. Pohorecki, age 82, of Waterville, OH, passed away June 30, 2025, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1942, in Toledo, to Paul and Mary (Sczublewski) Pohorecki. David was a 1960 graduate of Central Catholic High School. In his early career, David worked at City Auto Stamping in Toledo for over 15 years. He graduated from Owens Community College in 1990 with an associate's degree in Robotics and finished out his work experience at Brown and Sharp as a service technician traveling the country. David was an avid golfer with memberships at Tanglewood golf course in Perrysburg and at Fallen Timbers in Monclova Township. He loved animals and "rescued" many cats from shelters that became family pets. He enjoyed cars and owned several mustangs and a corvette at one time. After retirement, David pursued his passion of painting and has left a legacy of paintings for his family. He was also a member of the Maumee Elks and Maumee Eagles.
In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Pohorecki; and sister-in-law, Katsuko Pohorecki. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Pohorecki (Olejniczak – Oliver); daughter, Patricia Pickering; son, Brian Pohorecki; and grandson, Patrick Pickering Esq.
Funeral arrangements remain private, immediate family only. A Celebration of David's life is to be the first week in August. Details are to be determined.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society where the family is sponsoring a kennel in David's name, or to Hospice of NW Ohio who generously supplied support to David and his family for the last few years.
