Debra Schoen Obituary

SCHOEN

Debra Ann

Debra was born on December 22, 1953, to parents Joseph and Catherine Keeler. She was born on a small farm in Toledo, Ohio, where she learned the value of work and developed several skills. She attended St. Clement School and Notre Dame Academy. Debbie was the second of eight children, Regina, Joan, Catherine, Patricia, Joseph Jr., Anthony, and Donna.

Debbie married Theodore Schoen on May 12, 1973. They moved to Lambertville, Michigan and raised three children, Douglas (Kathleen), Scott, and Laura (Christopher) Witt. She was blessed with five grandchildren that love her and know her as "Nana," Franklin, Holden, Jonathan, Jillian, and Sloan.

Besides raising her family, Debbie was very talented as a seamstress, secretary at the Devilbiss company, retail sales, working in the food industry and coordinating the job site for a home builder.

Later Debbie and her husband moved to Estero, Florida. Her athletic abilities became apparent. She enjoyed jogging, rollerblading, and tennis on a regular basis. She loved the competition of playing in tennis leagues, while representing the development. Debbie blossomed and influenced so many people. She would always look one straight in the eyes with her warm smile and you knew that you were important. She always put everyone else first.

She had a passion for reading and was an avid Red Sox fan with a fetish for catchers. Debbie truly loved her children and grandchildren. We only wish that we could re-play our time with her. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial mass will be held in Florida at a later date and will be announced.Donations may be made to Notre Dame Academy, St. Francis de Sales High School, or Hope Hospice.

Dear Ted and Family:
I'll never forget my loving friend and neighbor. What a beautiful soul she has, and I feel so blest to have known her. She lifted me up in so many ways, and never too busy to listen. I know how much she'll be missed by all of you, and many, many others. Her kindness knew no boundaries, and I know God has a special place for her. Please know you are all in my thoughts.

We are so fortunate to have met our dear friend Scott's mother Debbie. Although we only met on a few occasions, we knew instantly where Scott got his incredible personality and compassion for others from. It's hard to find true friends in this world and we can honestly say Scott is just that to both of us. We are devastated for the loss of a wonderful mother, sister and friend. Scott and his entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you buddy!

My Dear Aunt Debbie,
I wish I could have been there to give you one more hug, one more I love you, one more kiss goodbye. You were living my dream of a life existing in paradise. I am so glad that you were able to experience that for so long. I wish I could take the pain away from everyone that is aching from your passing. Heart wrenching to think of them. May you be the strength that everyone needs. Forever watch over Uncle Ted, all of your babies, grand babies, siblings, parents, nieces and nephews. I know we will look to your spirit for guidance. My forever memories of you will include your beautiful heart, your kindness and that million dollar smile! It can never be duplicated. Love you always!
Love,
Steph

To Debbie my BEST friend, sister ever. To the most beautiful, loving, caring, generous person there has ever been. You are already missed here on earth by so many. You have touched so many peoples lives in so many different ways. I can not thank you enough for being the Best friend, sister ever and a second mom to our daughters Katie and Kelley. You have been a great mentor to all of us.
You have been the best wife to Theo and he is totally grateful for that. You gave him three beautiful and wonderful children. Doug, Scott and Laura (Katy and Chris) who have given you 5 plus one on the way grandchildren. They all will miss you so much. I am sadden that your grand babies will not be able to grow up and not be able to have you in there lives here on earth, but I know you will always be with them and keep them safe. We will always keep you part of their lives.
Ted, Doug, Scott and Laura you had the best wife, mother ever and I know you will, are missing her. But believe she is always with you. And that she is so very proud of all of you for all you have done for her. She is at peace now with the Lord no more pain and suffering for her. She is our angel.

I (we) will always be here for all of you. God bless all of you always.

My Dearest Sister Deb....
Though I have been on this cancer journey with you over the last year, I struggle to see the reality of your obituary posted today. You were and always will be my first friend in this life. I am convinced our sharing will not end, only that it will change form. You have been the wind beneath my wings as I had my own health experience with leukemia and bone marrow transplant. You have continued to be a staunch supporter in my every endeavor.....until virtually, almost your last breath. I miss you profoundly.
Mom and Dad,
Your pain is surely deep and unbearable as you deal with the reality of your child's departure. May God's grace and our special memories, along with the support of your children and grandchildren....carry you thru this difficult time.
Ted, Doug, Scott, and Laura...
My heart and spirit truly ache with yours as you bid farewell to your beautiful wife and mother in this life. I pray you will find and experience her in every thought, moment, and world around you from here forward. Be comforted with us in knowing that we will all be together again in Heaven's Paradise.
Love
Jeanne Sister, Daughter, Aunt.....
