Dennis BARNER Obituary

BARNER Dennis G. Dennis G. Barner of Toledo, OH, died in his home on Monday, January 11, 2010, at the age of 57 years. The son of Robert C. and Joanne M. Stroehlein Barner and one of five siblings, he was a graduate of Rogers High School Class of 1971, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1972 serving during the Viet Nam era until 1976 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Enrollment followed at the University of Toledo where he obtained his associate degree in computer technology. His employments included the Green Lines Company of Bowling Green, OH, where he worked in the over the road department followed by Express Bill and Payroll of Toledo, OH. He was a member of American Legion South Side Post #531. He also enjoyed professional sports, especially the National Football League. Surviving are siblings, Carol (Randall) King of Whitehouse, OH, Beverly A. (Lonny) Yates of St. Petersburg, FL, Randall L. (Karen) Barner of Plant City, FL and Kathleen M. Dartt of Columbia, MO; also nieces, Lauren E. King, Lindsay C. King, Samantha Yates, Rebecca Yates, Kimberly M. (Cliff) Dartt-Selkoe and Patricia Dartt, and nephew, Dave Dartt. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (between Central and Bancroft) where services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.

I went to school with Dennis from the 3rd grade at Fall Meyer Ele, through Rogers High. My condolences to the Barner family, I considered him a friend.
