Dennis A. Earl. Sr.

February 7, 1942 - May 10, 2025

Dennis A. Earl Sr., 83, of Cairo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living Center, Lambertville, Michigan.

Dennis was born on February 7, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, and was the son of Allen and Audrey (Green) Earl. Dennis was a 1960 graduate of Columbus Grove High School.

He was employed as the Plant Engineering with GM Powertrain for over 33 years, retiring in 1994.

Dennis graduated from General Motors Institute with an engineer degree. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Upsilon as well as the Free Masons. Dennis married the love of his life, Carol, in 1963. They had three children, Dennis, Dale and Jennifer. He enjoyed coaching his children in t-ball, baseball and softball. He began his love of sports in high school, playing football, baseball and basketball. He introduced his family to many adventures through camping and traveling. His love of nature, wildlife, hunting and fishing was evident throughout his life. He also enjoyed a good game of golf. He could tell a story or joke with a twinkle in his eye and a mischevious smile.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Anne (Schultz) Earl; son, Dale Earl; and infant sister, Joyce Earl.

Surviving are his children, Dennis A. (Kathy Schafer) Earl Jr. and Jennifer (Dan) Breitbart; grandchildren, Ashley (Steve) Driskell and Adam Earl; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Elliott, Inara and Nolan; sister, Barb (Phil) Clark; and brother, Will (Kathy) Earl.

Visitation at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m., that will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, Cario United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Cairo, Ohio 45820.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Meals Til Monday of PO Box 3072 Elida, Ohio 45807. Dennis also had a passion and love of all dogs and cats. Donations can be made to your local Humane Society in his honor.
