Dennis Janco Obituary
Dennis Janco
April 8, 1942 - November 2, 2025
Dennis Edward Janco, beloved friend, colleague and neighbor, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on April 8, 1942, in the Cleveland, Ohio, area, Dennis grew up surrounded by a loving family of parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He attended Lakewood High School and later, Ohio State University, where he earned a degree in Audio-Visual Communications. Following his college years, Dennis served proudly in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his sense of duty and quiet integrity.
After his service, Dennis settled in Toledo, Ohio, where he began a long and distinguished career at WTVG Channel 13 Television. Over the course of more than 40 years, he became a trusted and respected presence behind the scenes - valued for his loyalty, dependability and steadfast professionalism. His colleagues knew him as someone who could always be counted on, and whose work ethic matched his humility.
Outside of his career, Dennis led a rich and curious life. He was an early adopter of computers and technology, endlessly fascinated by new software and innovations. He loved exploring the internet, solving crossword puzzles, and diving into a good book. Dennis had a contagious wit and a warm smile, and his sense of humor could brighten any room.
In his later years, Dennis made his home in Lambertville, Michigan, where he enjoyed a peaceful and contented life surrounded by friends and kind neighbors who cherished his gentle presence. He was also deeply devoted to his late partner, Marcia Nelson, who passed away in 1998 and remained forever in his heart.
Those who knew Dennis will remember him as a man of kindness, sincerity and quiet generosity - someone who gave much of himself and asked little in return. His decency and character were rare gifts in this world, and his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.
No funeral services are planned at this time. In honor of Dennis' spirit, take a moment to share a smile, lend a hand, or enjoy a quiet laugh - simple acts that came so naturally to him.
