Dennis O'Shea Obituary

Dennis J. O'Shea

Dennis John O'Shea, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. He was born on May 13, 1952, and grew up in Maumee, Ohio. He later made his home in Waterville, Ohio, where he spent many years before retiring and moving to Brooklyn, Michigan.

Dennis built a long and respected career in the mortgage and title industry. Over the years, he served as a mortgage lender and title agent with several institutions, where he became known for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to helping others. Through his work, he built many lasting relationships and earned the trust and respect of colleagues, clients, and friends throughout his years of service.

In retirement, Dennis found great joy in the life he built at his waterfront home on Sweezey Lake in Brooklyn, Michigan. There, he spent his days enjoying the beauty of the water and welcoming friends and family. He especially loved entertaining, sharing laughter, and making lasting memories with those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. O'Shea; his mother, Jane Howe O'Shea; and his beloved wife, Carol Gottschalk O'Shea.

He is survived by his loving children, Ryan (Olivia) O'Shea, Kathryn Feaster, and Kenneth (Shelly) Gottschalk. Dennis is also survived by his brothers, Thomas (Mary) O'Shea and Michael (Patricia) O'Shea.

Dennis loved his family deeply and took immense pride in his seven grandchildren, Camryn, Kendall, Sadie, Austin, Sean, Maxwell, and Macy. They were a constant source of joy in his life.

Dennis will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the lasting impact he had on those who knew him. His presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Many called Dennis a friend, work colleague, and mentor. A fortunate few were lucky enough to call him Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Son, and Husband.

Visitation will be at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Wednesday, March 11, from 2:00-7:00 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, on Thursday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
