Diane McCourt Obituary

Diane "Debbie" McCourt

Diane M. McCourt passed away peacefully on Friday December 7 in her home surrounded by family. Born 2/13/1951 in Toledo, OH to the late Larry and Lee Wade, she worked as a medical technologist at St. Vincent's for over 35 years where she made some of her closest lifelong friends.

Diane will always be remembered for her passionate devotion to her family. Nothing brought her more joy than sharing her cooking with family and friends. Never far from nature, she was also very passionate about gardening, birdwatching, and walking in the Metroparks. Many of the flowers in her yard had been handed down over generations, and she took great pride in the beauty of her garden and the many compliments she received because of it. The whole family loved celebrating her and her father-in-law's shared birthday with an eclectic wild game dinner.

Always athletic, she loved sports and particularly watching her children and grandchildren as they participated over the years. She played volleyball, tennis, racquetball, as well as skied and bowled for much of her life. She also cherished her "Girls only" vacations, as well as, the numerous trips with family and friends throughout her life. Diane was always up for a new adventure, especially if it involved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Wade.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years Ron McCourt, her children Adam McCourt and Ty (Amy) Fries, grandchildren Madison Fries and Ryan Fries, as well as sister Linda King.

Friends and family are invited to join us at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue. on Thursday, December 13th from 4:00-7:00 pm to share our memories of Diane. Please also join us at St. Joan of Arc Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. on Friday December 14 for visitation at 9:30am and a mass at 10:30am followed by a luncheon.

Dear Ron and family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I heard about Diane's passing after her memorial service
so I was unable to attend. I worked with Diane many years in St V's blood bank.
She was always a dedicated worker and
loved to talk about her times with family and friends. May your memories bring you comfort especially during this Christmas
season. May God bless you all in the days to come!

Ron and family, I was so sad to hear of Debbie's passing you are all in my prayers. She was an amazing person and friend that I was lucky to know through high school and college sharing the adventures of the beginnings of our adult life. I have many fond memories of watching her as a loving mom to Ty as a young boy. I wish I could have spent time with her this last year but I am glad we were able to talk. She was a very special person that I know will be missed by many.

When I was a little girl she and Linda took me to see the "Sound of Music" and I felt so special sitting with the big girls. Prayers for you all. I know Debbie's Loss will leave a hole in your hearts and I pray that God gives you peace in the midst of this great loss. Wish I could be there to help celebrate her life. Love Cousin Laura Sattler

I am saddened to here of "Debbie's" passing. I remember her from Libbey High and from the many slumber parties that my sister Patty had, and how Debbie loved my mother's Cinnamon and pecan rolls. Watching her go through be them,I gave her the nickname of HGD (Human garbage disposal). But mom's rolls were far from garbage. She will be missed but not forgotten. My prayers are with you and your family in this time of grief.

I'm so sorry to hear about Diane's passing. I worked in the laboratory with her for many years. While we weren't in the same department, we occasionally were able to visit while in the lounge on break or at lunch. May she rest in eternal peace, and may you all find comfort in knowing that Diane touched a lot of lives.
Sincerely,
Carol Stiles
