Donald Baker Obituary

Donald Allen Baker Jr.

Sept. 29, 1968 - Dec. 18, 2025

Donald Allen Baker Jr., of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2025, at the age of 57. He was born on September 29, 1968, in Toledo, Ohio, to Dr. Donald Baker, MD, and Carolyn Baker.

Donald was known for his calm presence, joyful spirit, and the warmth he brought into every room. He had a genuine laugh, an easy smile, and a rare ability to make people feel comfortable, understood, and truly seen. He loved wholeheartedly and was loved even harder in return.

Living most of his life in Toledo, Donald attended several area schools, including Maumee Valley Country Day School, St. Francis de Sales, Ottawa Hills, and Rogers High School. He later earned a degree in Precision Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1998.

A gifted guitarist, Donald expressed himself through music, sharing his love of it at local bars and venues around Toledo during his young adulthood.

Family was at the heart of Donald's life. His children were his greatest motivation and purpose. He shared a longstanding partnership with Jennifer Baker, and together they raised three children, Sasha Worley (James), Seth Baker, and Kiera Baker (Kasey), with whom he shared a close and loving bond. He was overjoyed by and greatly adored his grandchildren, Jax and Willow.

In later years, Donald found happiness, companionship, and laughter with his wife, Elaine Baker. After several years together building a home and life shared with their beloved pets, they were married in August 2024. Donald was very fond of his stepchildren, Kacy Reyes (Austin), Jake Albright (Tabitha), and Jessie Albright (Matt); and took great pride in his step-grandchildren, Avery, Levi, Hadley, Wesley, Natalie, and James.

In Bowling Green, Donald became a familiar and respected presence in the community through his employment as a Certified Training Manager at the local Planet Fitness, where he was known for greeting everyone with a genuine smile and easy laughter.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Baker, MD; and his brother, David Allen Baker, Esq.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Baker; his children, Sasha Worley (James), Seth Baker, and Kiera Baker (Kasey); his grandchildren, Jax and Willow; his mother, Carolyn Baker; his brother, Dr. Aaron Baker (Edna); his stepchildren and step-grandchildren; his best friend, Alex LaRock, whom he loved like a son; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends, who loved him dearly.

Wake service will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Dale-Riggs Funeral Home. Interment, Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
