Donald "Don" L. Haack

September 28, 1933 - February 10, 2023

Donald Lester Haack, 89, of South Toledo, passed away on Friday February 10, 2023, in the care of Ohio Living Hospice at Swan Creek Care Center. Donald was born on September 28, 1933, in Oregon, Ohio to Richard and Florence (Monk) Haack. He was a graduate of Clay High School.

Don worked for the Sun Oil Refinery as a Machinist for 37 years retiring in 1989. He was an avid golfer, diehard Buckeye fan and a founding member of the Monday Night Football gang. He enjoyed attending his kids and Grandkids events, fishing, snowmobiling, his Corvette and could be found sitting in his "Man Cave" watching sports and old movies while eating ice cream. Don had a group of friends that he would walk with daily at the mall. Don and Donna had a cottage in Walhalla, MI that the family enjoyed for many years. The family will cherish the wonderful memories, especially the evening boat rides with Don as captain. He was a lifelong member of Memorial Lutheran Church.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Carrie Pfeiffer; sisters, Phyllis Schweider and Barbara Haack. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Haack; children, Gail (Denny) Edwards, Cheryl (Kris) Harvey and Doug (Kelly) Haack; also surviving are his 5 grandchildren, whom he was known as a "Swell Guy" to, Crystal (Nathan) Williams, Ryan (Amanda) Haack, Candice Miltz, Carly Miltz and Kelsey (Eddie) Tomich; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, February 17, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 18, at 11:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment services will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, Ohio.

Memorials can be made to Memorial Lutheran Church and Hospice Ohio Living Swan Creek.
