Donald Lagger Obituary

LAGGER Donald Joseph Donald Joseph Lagger, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in the Hospice Center of Toledo. Born January 9, 1921, in Toledo, Ohio to George and Mary (Nonnemacher) Lagger. Mr. Lagger worked as a carpenter in the Maintenance Department for The Toledo Hospital, retiring in 1986; previously Mr. Lagger worked for the former B & O Railroad as a carpenter. Mr. Lagger was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church and a former member and senior counselor of the U.C.T. (United Commercial Travelers) and was a graduate of the former Macomber High School. Mr. Lagger was preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. Lagger in 1996; infant daughter, Cathy Lagger; brothers, Edward, Eugene, Lawrence Lagger. Surviving are his sons, Joseph Lagger; Robert (Pat) Lagger; daughter, Jean A. (Mike) Schwartz; grandchildren, Stephanie Lagger, Andrea Schwartz, Lindsay Schwartz, Robert Lagger Jr., Rebecca Lagger; sisters, Ruth Reeder, Maryann McQueary, Rosemary Paciorek. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd., Friday 2-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the Mass of Christian burial at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.
