Donald E. Rattigan

Donald E. Rattigan, age 86, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Elizabeth Scott Community. He was born on April 14, 1931 in Detroit, MI to William and Anna (Mikolasik) Rattigan. Don was a 1949 graduate of Rossford High School where he is a member in the Rossford Athletic Hall of Fame. He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce where he was stationed in England during the Korean War. Don married Julia (Seman) in 1953 and together they raised three children. He was employed with Libbey Owens Ford Glass Co. as a millwright until his retirement in 1992. Don was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all, who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Julia; children, Colleen (Thomas) "Matt" Doyle, Maureen (James) Strall, Michael (Cheryl) Rattigan; grandchildren, Brenna (Jeff) Newmann, Corey (Sara) Doyle, Nolan (Sarah) Doyle, Mallory (Taylor) Jesko, MacKenzie (Ryan) Hogan, Madison (Kevin Kline) Strall, Hannah Rattigan and Ian Rattigan; and sister, Pat Wojton. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Zeniewicz; and brother, William Rattigan.

Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd., Rossford, OH 43460 on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Thursday November 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. where the family will greet visitors beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be directed to All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
