Earl C. Jr.
Earl Carl Wells Jr., 92, of Findlay passed away at 11:07 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Emergency Room of Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born September 4, 1923 in Memphis, AR to the late Earl Carl Wells Sr. and Edith (Jetty) Wells. On June 17, 1982, he married Alice Brockman and she
survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Trudy (Ronnie) McKenzie of Naples, FL, Barbara (Mike) Culp of Minford, OH; a son, Jeff Wells of Gastonia, NC; and a stepson, James D. Brockman Jr. of Toledo, OH. Earl was the eldest of eight siblings, and is survived by his brother, Jeff Wells of Everett, WA.
Earl's career began in radio in Kansas City, MO as an announcer for KMBC. He then moved to Toledo, OH where he was a newscaster for Channel 13 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. news. He then purchased the former Kellerman Advertising Agency in 1965, which became Wells Advertising, Inc.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Findlay Country Club; at one time, he was an avid golfer.
No services will be held at this time. Private inurment will be in the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church.
Memorials are suggested in Earl's name to 50/North (formerly Senior Center), 339 East Melrose Avenue, Findlay, OH 45840.
