Edna Slaybaugh Obituary

Edna Slaybaugh 09/13/2025

We are sad to announce that Edna Slaybaugh of Westerville, Ohio, died on Saturday, September 13, 2025, surrounded by family, at the age of 95. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, where she resided for 68 years before relocating to Westerville. Edna retired from the Toledo Board of Education, where she worked in several elementary schools as a school secretary. After moving to Westerville, she served as a volunteer at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's hospital. She loved to travel, read, and work jigsaw puzzles in her later years. She was deeply committed to her family, passionately supporting her children and taking great pride in all they achieved.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard Slaybaugh, Sr.; and her son, Darrell Slaybaugh. She is survived by her children, Richard (Jaclyn) Slaybaugh, Jr., Randall Slaybaugh, and Marsha Slaybaugh; grandsons, Joshua (Becky) Slaybaugh and Zachary (Leah) Slaybaugh; granddaughters, Colleen Slaybaugh and Rachel Slaybaugh; daughter-in-law, Karen Slaybaugh; and two great-grandsons. We will all miss her very much.

Services will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to The Philomatheon Society of the Blind, 2701 Tuscarawas St., Canton, OH 44708, philomatheon.com, or to Beagles R Us Rescue, 7042 S. 500 E., Columbia City, IN 46725, beaglesrusrescue.com.
