Edwin Mortemore Obituary
Edwin Curson Mortemore, age 90, of Grand Rapids, OH, died January 4, 2026. He was born March 10, 1935, to Edwin and Nellie Mortemore. His ashes will be buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, on Bailey Road north of Neapolis, Ohio, on May 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a short graveside service to celebrate another life gone to be with the Lord.
He drove truck for many years, drove a school bus for a few years, worked at Anthony Wayne schools as a janitor, and did many various other jobs. He enjoyed woodcarving, crocheting afghans, and painting. He was a member of the Neapolis Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Hill), married for 66 years; sons, Steven and Donald Mortemore; brother, James Mortemore; granddaughter, Tabitha Guth; and great-grandson, Shane Mohr.
Edwin is survived by his daughters, Penny Fern, Tammy Mortemore, and Brenda Robinson; and his sister, Helen Sims. He has 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
